From left over end cuts from a small Ipe wood siding project, the Siding Side Table was created.

Inspired by the simplicity of mid century design, this table uses hairpin legs and some left over Ipe wood siding.

The origins of hairpin legs design is credited to Henry Glass in 1941,  for more of the history, follow this link www.madformidcentury.com/2012/09/the-history-of-hairpin-legs.html

Ipe wood is a very dense durable and hard wood know for its rotted resistance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handroanthus

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janka_hardness_test  A good chart showing the relative hardness of different woods, IPE Brazilian hardwood is up there in the chart.

A simple angle iron frame was welded up to contain the wood pieces and mig weld the lags to.
